Rudyard Kipling Elementary School

Moving Forward

Kipling Elementary School is a Chicago Public School educating students from Pre-Kindergarten through 8th grade.

Dear Parents,

As we begin our new school year we are excited to have your child in our physical education program here at Kipling.  Our physical education curriculum is based on the goals of Common Core and NASPE (National Association for Sports and Physical Education).  Each student is expected to demonstrate movement patterns and exercises, understand concepts of health and fitness, maintain a health enhancing level of fitness for an extended period, demonstrate responsible behavior, respect others, and recognize the value of physical activity.

Our ultimate goal is to educate your child within the components of fitness, health, sports, and teamwork.  Each child is expected to participate every class period.  If a child needs to be restricted for health reasons a doctor’s note needs to be presented at the appropriate time.  All students should be equipped with gym shoes and uniform when entering the gymnasium.

Respectfully Yours,

Coach Powell
