Dear Team Parents,
I am so excited that we will continue this journey together. I am returning to Second Grade and my wonderful students. Welcome Back to Team 101! As we did last year, we will work as a team to ensure your child’s success!
I am a Chicagoan through and through. I attended high school in the area. At the time the school was named Academy of Our Lady. I remember riding the bus daily on the way to the Dan Ryan train. After high school, I attended Loyola University where I received a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education. I earned my teaching certificate and years later attended Roosevelt University where I earned a Master’s in Early Childhood Education. After arriving at Kipling, I earned my most recent educational accomplishment which was receiving a Middle School Science Endorsement from the University of Chicago. I have also been trained in LEAP, a teaching technique that Kipling has adopted to give your child a personalized learning path.
I am also a parent. I have two wonderful children. My daughter is in her second year of college and my son is entering eighth grade. My husband and I can attest to the fact that parenting is hard work!
This year is going to be wonderful. Summer will be partially spent in a Wilson Reading Training; which is designed to enhance the methods and strategies used towards achievement in literacy. I absolutely love teaching. It is my desire that my students become life-long learners.
If needed, please continue to voice concerns. One of the reasons that last year was successful is because we had open communication. It is my wish that we continue this way. It truly takes a village and we must work together.
