Scholastic Book Fair

Our Scholastic Book Fair event is a wonderful opportunity for your to enhance your child's at-home library and contribute to Kipling's fundraiser event.  Click here to order books online.  Students may wish to select books to read and record their reading time toward our Links-to-Literacy campaign.

Medical Compliance Deadline

All medical forms are due on October 15 to meet medical compliance and avoid exclusion from school.  In order for students to be considered in compliance, they must submit to the school nurse a completed immunization (shot) record as prescribed by the state of Illinois, the hearing and vision of the school physical form must be completed, as well as a completed dental examination form.

8th Grade Parent Meeting

Eighth grade parents should attend the 8th grade parent meeting at 6:00 p.m.  We will review the graduation policy, graduation procedures and discuss our plan to help make this final year at Kipling School an enjoyable one for your 8th graders.  We will be seeking parents to participate on a graduation committee to plan the events.

Family Science Night

Family Science Night was created to generate enthusiasm among students and families for the science program and science fairs by giving families a chance to explore science together.  It promises to be evening of hands-on science activities for students and their families to do together. The event should include enough activities to represent many different facets of science.

Workbook Fees Due

Rudyard Kipling collects the following school fees:

The fees help to cover the expense of consumable materials.  Fees must be paid by October 6, 2017.  Any books lost or destroyed will need to be replaced or purchased by the parent/guardian.  If fees are not paid in full, any money sent for sports, or fields trips will first be applied to the outstanding book fees.

Kindergarten – Grade 6:  $35.00

Grade 7:  $45.00 (includes the Constitution book and school fees).

Grade 8: $110.00 (includes the $75.00 graduation fee: cap, gown, ribbons, autograph book, and diploma cover and the school fees.)

Schoolwide Picture Day

School Day Pictures will be taken on February 15, 2017.  Your child is encouraged to dress up and wear their finest attire.  Order forms will be distributed to your child by their homeroom teacher.  

Please remember to completely fill out the order form and send the exact money either in the form of cash or a money order.  No personal checks are accepted by Kipling School.

Holiday Happenings

  • December 9, 2016 – Wear your favorite holiday hat, jewelry, or necktie.

 

  • December 12th – December 22nd - “Candy-cane Grams” go on sell. The cost is 2 for $1. They will be delivered on December 23, 2016

 

  • December 13, 2016 - Door decorating contest begins. Judging will occur on December 16, 2016

 

  • December 16, 2016 – Wear holiday socks.

  • December 16, 2016 - Simeon High School cosmetology school department will visit 6th, 7th, and 8th graders for hair styles and manicures.

 

  • December 23, 2016 - Ugly Sweater Day.

After School All Stars begins

Our After School All Stars program begins on October 3, 2016.  Students are invited to participate in the academic portion of the program by their teachers.  A sign-up sheet is posted for students wishing to participate in the extracurricular activities.  Parental permission is required for participation.
