Music Grading 2018-2019
Music grades earned in the following ways:
Practicing the given skill of the day. An example of a skill would be playing an instrument, listening and describing specific things in the music (for example, describing a melody as going up or down or what instruments are being used), describing what the mood of the song is or improvising on a melody.
Ensemble Skills: Being able to play music as a group, coming in at the right time with the correct rhythm with an instrument, waiting silently while waiting to come in.
Performances: Participating in school wide concerts or assemblies. Additionally, this can be a speaking or a listening grade as well.
Written Assignments: Music writing prompts answered in complete sentences that are grammatically correct.
