9-10-14  5th and 6th Grade Social Studies Homework- Study your notes from the videos and articles we read and discussed in class. Reread your news articles, underline key details, make notes in the margins, and study for Friday's quiz. Study and share the information from class with your family.  A wonderful way to study is to have an engaging conversation about Michael Brown and Antonio Smith. Share the details of both incidents with your family, share your thoughts, and explain ways that individuals and groups can influence or shape public policy. Ask these questions during your conversations:

1. What public policy has been put in place since the death of Michael Brown in some states?

2. How will these new policies impact the community?

3. Explain the tension between the community and police force in Ferguson Missouri.
